Hey all,

While many Apple fans are looking forward to the iPhone 11 launch tomorrow, there's something big coming out later today - and that's iOS 13, the brand new update that will power Apple's new iPhone. If you're an iPad user, Apple now have a dedicated version that's specifically tailored to iPad, called iPad OS, which will launch on 30 September. Take a look below at some of the features we're looking forward to most. This isn't an exhaustive list though - you can find that on Apple's iOS 13 website.

Dark Mode, a new feature in iOS 13

Dark Mode: This fantastic new feature will be introduced in this new update, making it viewing things much easier on the eye. It's brilliant to look at in the dark, and you can even choose to enable it on a schedule, based either on time, or on sunset & sunrise.

Photos and Camera: iOS 13 brings with it a Portain Lighting Control system, giving you the ability to change the intensity of light in Portrait Lighting. There's also a new High-Key Mono effect for your portrait mode photos. There's also a redesigned Photo Editor. With the powerful new Video Editor, nearly every tool and effect you can use on your photos can be used on videos, including rotate, crop and auto-enhance.

Sign In with Apple: Now you can sign in to apps and websites with the Apple ID you already have. No filling out forms or creating new passwords. Just tap Sign In with Apple and after a quick Face ID or Touch ID confirmation, you’re all set.

New privacy controls: New location controls and transparency features help you stay more in control of your data. Choose to allow apps access to your location just once. And there are more protections than before from people who want to track you without your permission.

Siri Shortcuts: The Shortcuts app is now built in and brings together shortcuts from your apps with the ones you’ve created. Shortcuts are also more conversational, so you can do things like tell Siri “Order takeout from Caviar”, and Siri will pull up a list of restaurants you previously ordered from along with your favourite dishes from each one.

Announce Messages on AirPods: Siri can now read incoming messages aloud. So you don’t have to stop what you’re doing to pick up your phone. You can buy AirPods from O2 here.

QuickPath Typing: Simply swipe from one letter to the next without lifting your finger to enter a word. On‑device machine learning recognises the path you draw and converts it for you, making one‑handed typing a breeze.

A more advanced Files app: Access, manage and organise files stored on external drives or file servers straight from the Files app.

So, what iOS 13 feature are you looking forward to most?
For me... It's Dark Mode!

Been using the Beta for this since it started, Dark mode is definately the key feature of this update and now that more apps are starting to support it, its definitely an improvement

Nah, dark mode is just a bit of tarting up, the key feature for me is Apple backing down on what can use the USB C port and what files it allows you to transfer.

Now all files and media can be brought In via usb C devices with zero restrictions.

Finally the iPad pro is worthy of its name.
