I've had my contract under my mums name as I was underage when we first got it. Now I want to change from her name to mine - how is this possible?

Do I get a cooling off period with my upgrade?
You have 7 working days to return the phone, however if your previous tariff has been withdrawn you won't be able to move back onto it. You'll stay on your new up to date tariff. If you choose to change your deal then you will need to return the phone to us and once we have it back we can arrange your new deal because this may have an effect on how long it will be before you can upgrade again.

If you've returned your phone in the cooling off period and chosen another one, the cooling off period doesn't apply to the new phone.

As I said on the other thread you have to call CS on 202. We don't know what tariff you are on, what you've changed too and we can't access your accounts either.
Sorry, but CS have to sort this out for you.

It depends if it is still available or if CS can/will revert you - You need to call them.....

We don't know the password so couldn't continue with the query to Cs and my mum doesn't know the security questions as some were to do with the last upgrade which she doesn't know the date of when she said it after I told her the man said he couldn't allow for me to say it even though I use the phone and she was on the phone talking to them. Another didn't accept us both being on loud speaker so it's just getting me nowhere calling them

For your security they will insist on passing these.

Perhaps ring back and try again or go into store together with I.d

Account security is there for your own protection - Anyone could gain access to your phone and change things or order stuff. Unless you know the password you can't do anything I'm afraid.
You will have to get it reset and then keep a record of it. Usually (although not the safest) it is your mothers maiden name....

As per @MI5 passwords are there to protect you. We have seen other posts where security "appeared" to be breached and the hassles that caused.

I recommend you choose a password that means something to you that most others would not know. Fave teacher, first car registration or something of that ilk.

Would it not have been easier to cancel the old account at its end and sign up yourself as a new customer? You could have transferred the number.

Assuming you would pass the credit check then as @MI5 has stated ask you mum to call CS on 202 as the contract is in her name. You will need to be there too in order to arrange change of name.

Please let us know how you get on.

It is possible to be breached. On live chat I asked for my data update one asked for password the other just asked for my number and gave me it. Hence the inconsistency. I can't reset the password so is it possible for my mum to go in branch and ask for a reset? She will probably have to answer security questions surely but hopefully it'll be progress
