You actually need a data only sim for it to work in any tablet.

The pay monthly T&C exclued the use of sims in modems Tablets are not mobile phones

Your tariff usage is subject to our 'excessive usage policy' (outlined in this clause 16 and clause 17 of these Tariff Terms) at alltimes. This means that your usage must be for private and personal purposes and that of a legitimate consumer's. You may not use your SIM Card:

  • a. in, or connected to, any phone other than the one which it was supplied with or the type intended by us for use with. (For example a mobile phone simplicity tariff SIM Card is intended for use in a mobile phone not a modem. This includes putting your SIM Card into a modem, modem usage or internet tethering on your device unless stated);
iPhone 11 Pro 256gb on unlimited data
iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 256gb refresh o2 family discount
Apple Watch series 4
My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.

Hi,

 No they are different sizes.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5554

Your iPhone 4s takes a micro sim.

The ipad air takes takes a nano sim.

Here is the link to ipad sims http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/ipad-sim  and the tariffs for iPads.

Technically possible although it would be easier to set a. Personal hotspot on your phone and tether your iPad to it.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

As long as the OP is on a Pay Monthly Contract and not on Payg then thats certainly possible for Tethering from the iPhones inclusive data to the iPad.

Although its also worth mentioning that the data allowance would drain more quickly.

As they mention "current contract" I would assume so....

Probably so but as I also sometimes refer to my Payg as a Contract I thought it prudent to make the mention.

This confuses me slightly. What if the tablet has the facility to be used as a phone?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Only o2 can answer this but it has been discussed before from memory.

If it is sold as a tablet then o2 see it as a Tablet and not a mobile phone and it will fall foul of the T&C

Tethering is allowed on monthly contracts though, ie from phone to tablet.
