According to this article: http://readwrite.com/2014/03/27/5-things-know-microsoft-office-ipad/ If you download Office for iPad it is read only. If you want to edit, you need an Office 365 subscription, which will cost you.

As I understand from my link it is read only...unless you have a Microsoft ID where you can then write letters and print. If you do go for Office 365 then yes... you will have to pay...($6.99 a month)

Unless you installed office when it was free you will need a 365 subscription. Or get android or windows phone when it's free always.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Although Office 365 can be installed free of charge if you go to YouTube.  I know this for a fact..and it works.

I won't post the link. A quick search will do the trick...:smileywink:

None taken. If I don't know something though I will normally check before posting. I didn't know much about this so checked via Google, Microsoft, Ray (re free version) and D.I.L re her experience of using office and Word on her 3 ipads...
