My son has just bought a used iphone 6 plus from a friend but the phone is locked to the network
He is currently mid contract with Vodafone so needs to unlock the device to use his current sim
We seem to be going round in circles trying to find a way to unlock it....our local o2 shop were understanding but could only refer to us Customer Services. Unfortunately to contact them we need the account details or an 02 number which we do not have
Any help much appreciated

Please follow this guide Guide: Unlocking an O2 phone to use a different SIM card
If in difficulty, he would need to get the account details from his friend though
Best of luck and welcome to the forum

Many thanks for your help...we will try out the guide this morning
Perhaps he should have asked this question before he bought the phone
Yes although it would have been more helpful if the friend he bought it from had it unlocked before he sold it. That's always the best way, saves all the faffing about for the buyer and it's such and easy job to do!

Hi there @PN68 , hope you're having a good week. I just wanted to ask if you managed to resolve the unlocking issue earlier or if you needed any additional advice or help with this?
