Handsets bought in the US no longer come with a sim tray.

can I convert my O2 SIM card to eSIM, so that I can use a handset purchased in the US (iPhone 15 pro)

Yes you can.

Check My O2. If you have been placed on the new account system you can do it under Swap My SIM

If not the best way is to call into an O2 Shop with Photo ID and pick up an eSIM pack

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

eSim not available on PAYG.
