Time to move to EE sadly

I have been a customer of O2 for a very long time, always loyal, first with pay as you go then contracts.

This Summer I was away on holiday, first in Cuffley in Hertforshire then Hunstanton in Norfolk.

Everyone around me had 3G, I had a full signal but no 3G, now and the I was very lucky and managed Edge, but most of the time GPRS or nothing.

I have an I phone 5, sadly without 3G the phone is of little use.

I was once proud that o2 was at the cutting edge, sadly they have been overtaken by other companies.

Are o2 actually listeneng to the many many customers that are quickly changing over to neworks that work with modern mobiles?

My main question is.

Is o2 doing anything about its poor 3G in areas with no coverage?

a modern phone is of little use without it.

They say their continually improving the network and possibly the new venture with mast sharing with Vodaphone will help

Also with 4G roll out now launched with places being added with hopefully full roll out by 2015 things should improve.

Saying that their will always be fringe coverage which 02 state in their t&c like all the networks that the service is not fault free.

Yes, due to the version of 4G they have bought, O2 have to guarantee indoor coverage to 98% of the population with 2G 3G and 4G.

This should be competed by 2015 which is two years ahead of schedule.

Although I understand O2s version of 4G won't work with Iphone 5

We would need to change phone, sadly this was not mentioned when we bought an Iphone 5 and signed up to a 2 year contract.

This was well known and publicised at the time and this was put up last September:

02 would have weighed up the choices and have at least come up with an avenue of choice for iPhone 5 owners.

At the end of the day they didn't have to offer anything.
