If I turn on my iPhone 4 hotspot, and connect to it through my MacBook will I suffer any surplus charges to my contract or will it just come out of my 1Gb data allowance?

It will come out of your allowance but just be aware it could get through your allowance very quickly.

The data used will be taken out of your 1 GB data allowance. But be aware that webpages on a laptop computer will be larger in data size than they are on a mobile device and thus will use more of your data allowance.

Yeah it was, but I just wanted to point out that webpages are of a larger data size on a computer/laptop that on a mobile device
