Smashed screen

Anonymous
Not applicable
So I cracked my iPhone 6s screen I have o2 insurance and still under Apple warranty. Apple are telling me it's going to cost £106 to get fixed. I know if I go with o2 to get fixed it means I'll be without my phone so can anyone tell me how long it takes o2 to fix a screen

Personally I would choose Apple, but the cost appeared to be a factor with the OP...and on the other hand, the time spent without a phone...So Apple sorts the problem of speed. O2 insurance resolves the issue of cost. Hence the choice...:smileywink:

The OP's O2 insurance isn't going to cover them for a smashed screen anyway, so they may as well take it to Apple directly. It may cost a little more for the repair, but they'll have their phone back on the same day. No contest, as far as I see it.:smileywink:

O2 insurance depending on the policy will cover a smashed screen (mine has the free http://static.o2.co.uk/www/docs/termsandconditions/4539_O2CN1587N_Mobile_Damage_and_Breakdown_Cover_... with my tariff)

O2 insurance does cover smashed screens, any policy with accidental damage cover should cover it, obviously with the excess fee applicable.

To be fair, most insurance excess is far more when dealing with top tier phones.
My banks excess is £100 on my phone and even places like protectmybubble charge between 50-75 with veeeeery slow turnaround.

I stand corrected then, but the bottom line for all this is that the OP has said they don't have access to a spare phone, and doesn't want to be without a phone for any length of time. If O2 did give them a loaner it wouldn't be much to match their iPhone. We don't know what policy they have with O2, but if it involves having to pay an excess, which I would think it would, their best option still is to take it directly to Apple.

If the op has a £60 excess it should be the new version of the policy I posted above as it was £55 up to policy's before December 2015 .
