The point with O2 Recycle is you can simply change your mind if you're not happy with the price offered.

Getting it unlocked and selling elsewhere may get you a better price.

Hi,

Possibly look at CEX as an alternative to O2 Recycle.

I'm also not sure if O2 would buy it off you this way as the T&C state your not allowed to dispose of the hardware until the agreement is paid off on a refresh agreement.

If your phone is in good condition then you could be looking at getting around £250.

Apple Trade in programme offered between £220 and £190.

Apple Link : http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/reuse_and_recycle

I sold my iPhone 5 to CEX for £250 and purchased the iPhone 5s from my local Apple Store.

Is it worth it you ask..... well that's down to what your wants and needs are.

I wanted a larger capacity battery, faster Apple A7 with 64-bit architecture, and 4G capability.

I've used O2 recycle and Mazuma before and can't fault either.
But like perksie said, unlock your phone as sim free go for more.
And bob is right, the 5s is much faster and very smooth to use. I love it

Have you compared the features of the 5 to 5S to see if there is enough of an upgrade to keep you happy when changing?  I'd recomment playing with a 5S instore to see how different it feels to you.

I recently sold my 16Gb iPhone 5 for £170.  Depending on the quality of your phone (scratches etc) and the amount of RAM it has, you may get slightly more / less.

Good luck with what you choose to do.
