I just switched from android to apple whilst on holiday so data roaming was active but when I took the old sim card and place it into my apple iPhone, calls could be made so the sim card worked but my data would not become active and I've tried everything that would normally be the problem yet it does not work. What should I do ?

Change the APN to mobile.o2.co.uk in the mobile data settings.

You need to tell O2 you have moved an Android SIM into an iPhone, they need to change some settings their side for your data to work. Call 202 around 08:10am or use the Social Media channel, in the link below. Good luck, @apple-jack.

You dont need to tell o2, just change the APN, I do this all the time with test devices, and never once told O2 to change anything on my account.

I thought it was the idata thing that needed changing, @madasaf1sh - but I stand corrected 😉

I had this issue when i went to Portugal. Took me a day of online research and I found I needed to ensure my setting were idata.o2.co.uk from the already installed ones. Restarted my phone and BOOM internet grin
