My iPhone 5 keeps failing calls when in the phone it people. Not sending messages and not letting people call me or for me to call out? Is their a reason for this? I haven't done the newest upgrade the 7.0.4 one could this be why? As it happened before this was even out? Any help would be appreciated as driving me insane now

I'd always say to go for the latest update.
Then after backing up do a complete reset of the phone.
If the phone is faulty Apple will replace it under warranty so no need for insurance as long as it's just gone faulty and not been dropped or water damaged etc....

Check your network status.

Remove, clean and replace sim card.

Check sim in another phone.

Replace phone if proved faulty.
