Massively late text delivery

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am not receiving texts on time, some come in on time but some are as late as 12 or more hours. This hasn't been happening long about a week or more.

But at present due to family matters I really need to get this resolved ASAP.

Please help.

I have an iPhone 5

Thanks - I'm willing for any suggestions!! I don't have another phone so will ask friends although will have to borrow it for a week or so as the problem is intermittent

I know it's not the best resolution but you can then rule out the iPhone or network.

As I say sim adapters are free in store.

Are you in a 3g or 2g area when this delay happens?

Hi live right on the edge my home is in a 3G area 500 yards down the road at work I'm in 2G. I would expect delays in 2G area but this happens at home too. Sadly no 4G in my area.

The issue isn't so bad at present text have been ok for past few days. This to me would indicate a network issue as opposed to a phone fault ?

I can be in different areas. This morning it's happened while at home and I'm in a supposedly good 3G area. I thought the problem had been stopped by turning my 3G off as someone suggested it was a fault as it switched in and out of 3G coverage. But no it started again 😕

Once you have tested out your sim in another phone and ruled that out, then I would have to suggest that this is a transmission issue. I live between a 2g mast at home and 3 x 3g plus 1 x 2g at work and in certain small areas the masts appear to fight with each other as to which one will send our receive.

One option may be to set your phone to 3g only and see if that helps?
