Was wondering if there are any solutions to this, I had an iphone 4 for two years on 1gb data per month, never ever went over my limit, I upgraded to an Iphone 5 in August and since then I have went quite considerably over my data which is costing me more and more to add bolt ons, my data usage hasn't changed since moving, just general browsing, no video being watched.
I have been on to O2 who advised me to go to apple, I went today and they reset my phone to the factory settings and told me to keep an eye on it, all my settings are turned off that would use data except mobile data, I browsed roughly for 5 mins today and my data used was 58mb.
I'm at pains to use any data now, what's the point in having an iphone if you cannot use it like an iphone is supposed to, does anybody have any solution to this problem?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you can check in the settings for what is using data and reset it on billing day, if there is an issue with the o2 system you can take screen grabs and prove it is not the iphone but o2.

if running ios7 go into settings> mobile > scroll down and you will see exactly what is using your mobile data.
Just to add I have had nearly all versions of the iphone (missed the 5 out) and have never seen this so called rogue data usage

You need to take the time to find out what is using your data to excess and then we can advise what can be done to help.
Check the diagnostic reporting to apple is off and all the location services (except essential ones) as they seem to use the most data.

We are trying to help here we are all customers.
Since the 28th november I have used only used 75.4 on cell data iphone5s and o2 match that figure.
Without you trying to prove to o2 there is an issue like using screen grabs showing day last reset and total usage for that period it is your word against theres.
Example of my screen grabs

Have you installed any apps recently that could be causing the drain? Is the battery draining faster than usual too, if something's hammering the data connection it'll be caning the battery usage too. Or, is anything uploading frequently in the background?
