Was wondering if there are any solutions to this, I had an iphone 4 for two years on 1gb data per month, never ever went over my limit, I upgraded to an Iphone 5 in August and since then I have went quite considerably over my data which is costing me more and more to add bolt ons, my data usage hasn't changed since moving, just general browsing, no video being watched.
I have been on to O2 who advised me to go to apple, I went today and they reset my phone to the factory settings and told me to keep an eye on it, all my settings are turned off that would use data except mobile data, I browsed roughly for 5 mins today and my data used was 58mb.
I'm at pains to use any data now, what's the point in having an iphone if you cannot use it like an iphone is supposed to, does anybody have any solution to this problem?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Ok but only let go for 2 days before checking and comparing it will be a bit out depending on the time you do a reset of the stats on the iphone.

Wierd thing happened today. Got a text yesterday evening to say I'd used 80% of my data allowance (which was only reset on the 8th of May; I've got 750MB per month). Follow on text this morning to say I'd used all my data allowance. Strange thing is that I've been at home all this time using wifi. Anyway, at 13:01, I bought a 1GB bolt on. At 13:53, I had another text to say I'd used 80% of my data. I had NOTHING running, hadn't even checked my email. How could I have used 800MB in 52 mins? I'm convinced something's up with the O2 data counters. I've been on the phone to customer services and literally hit a brick wall. they're convinced I've got some app running in the background that's chewing my data.
Anybody else encountered anything similar recently? I'm totally miffed and puzzled !

Two thoughts spring to mind. 1. Are you using TuGo at all and 2. Whilst I hear what you say in relation to wifi are you sure you were connected?
