Hi there,
Just upgraded from iphone4 to 5 yesterday, still on O2. I bought the iphone4 in phones4U and as far as i'm aware its unlocked (there's no O2 branding on it anywhere). I bought the new iphone5 direct from O2 yesterday over the phone.
I want to give my iphone4 to my wife who's on TMobile.
I know there's an unlock form on here but if I fill that in it will unlock my current new iphone5.
Quick question then: How do I check my old phone is unlocked or can you send me a Free PAYGO Sim to test it out?
Cheers,
Stu

No it probably won't be unlocked. Put another network sim in it to try.
And no asking for the unlock won't affect your current phone.
Apple don't allow branding to be put on their phones but can be network locked
SIM cards can be picked up from £1 shops or online or in network shops.
Unlock form : https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form
Free to contract customers.

https://shop.ee.co.uk/price-plans/free-sim
If it is unlocked then ask TMobile to sim swap which moves your wife's mobile number and tariff from her old sim to a new micro SIM card.
Edit to change version of sim required.

Yes it's free to contract O2 customers.
Here is an O2 info link.
http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/unlocking-an-o2-mobile-to-use-on-a-different-network#qs
You will need the TMobile sim ready when you get the e mail advising of the unlock to complete the process. Put it in and hook up to iTunes.

OK Cheers, I've ordered a free Tmobile nano sim and I'll try sticking that in first to see what happens, then take it from there...
Thanks
