My daughter managed to lock her Iphone 5 after incorectly entering her passcode, after contacting O2 for her PUK code she was told that this would not unlock her phone and she would need to have it sent away by O2 to be unlocked which would take 3 weeks as it needs a special security code to unlock it,this does seem to be a long time just to unlock a phone and we are wondering if she has been given the correct information by O2

Wait for a period of time before trying again or restore it via itunes & set up as a new phone but make sure everything is backed up before

Is this the pass code lock? Or sim lock code?
If passcode lock then a restore in itunes should resolve the issue I will find the official link in a bit
