Hi, probably a silly question but here goes. If I am in a location with a very low internet signal - either E or 0 showing instead of 3G on my iphone 4..... would that mean that setting up personal tethering (so I could use my laptop via the iphone) wouldn't work?
Not sure how this thing works - whether setting up a personal hotspot automatically produces a wifi signal or whether that depends on there being an adequate internet signal in the first place. There are no BT hotspots around the location, or wi fi hotspots that I can use.
But I need to use my laptop there... help!
Thanks for any advice.

It should still work but will be slower than an old dial up connection at home so may time out.
The personal hotspot works with all data connections obviously 3g is a lot faster
If you can get the edge E signal to stay connected it will be a littlr quicker

Many thanks! I reckon it might be a very slow task then because I only get the 'o' symbol for the internet on my phone.
Maybe a dongle for a provider who has good coverage in that area would work, if I plug that into my laptop? Not sure how these things work (newbie!)
