Soooo, got mine. Just unboxed it.
Scratched screen.
The box was sealed, the wrap was on, it came like that.
I'm not very happy as I would tolerate it for myself but it drops resell value dramatically.
Now the issue of course is having to be believed that I did not cause this. It's always user error.
I'm floored.

You would expect better quality control from Apple
Mine is fine though but that doesn’t help the two people with damaged ones
As another poster said you would hope O2 held back some stock for issues like this so they can be fixed quickly

I called after posting this. It was without pain. Normally it's always "user error" or "computer says no" but it was surprisingly easy with O2. Back waiting for a replacement. No word yet as to when it'll arrive. Simple swap, they'll take the scratched one whenthey deliver... At least I think so, the very helpful guy on the other end either was sucking on a massive gobstopper or had a thick accent. And I'm usually good with accents being a Northener myself... Now I'm second guessing myself, maybe I should give them a call to clarify the swap proceedure...

The iPads now come with a full body opaque wrap, there is no thin clear film and hasn't been for a few generations.
