For what purpose exactly?
Say you got 100dbu, apart from moving to a different location, how could you improve the signal?
The dots are a pictorial representation of the RxLev which is the same as either dots or numbers.....

A little bit pointless for information you already know from how the phone is performing. You can get this information from a simple app.

I didn't understand the point of it @MI5...but I didn't know why I didn't realise the point. (not sure I do now either) but...well done...

Good to know that some numbers are still left inside Apple devices and a knowledgeable person  can occasionally trick iOS into showing them!

The point is, there is no point
The dots are a pictorial display of received signal level.
The service menu converts the dots into a number....
but that's it. Signal level is still the same !
