Facebook tap to post not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have since getting my iPhone 5, been able to use the Facebook tap to post feature in the Notification Centre. But its a little while since using it last and I don't know when the problem started.

Basically when I swipe down the Notification Centre, and then touch the tap to post for Facebook, I get the following shown:

However, the Facebook app works fine. Also the tap to tweet for Twiiter in the Notification Centre works fine too.

I've tried deleting my Facebook account off of my iPhone, deleted the Facebook app, turned the iPhone off and then back on, re-installed the app and logged in, but the problem is still there.

I've also tried the Facebook tap to post in the Notification Centre on my iPad and I have the same problem on there too.

Is any one else experiencing this problem?

I expect its just a temporary issue with either Apple and or Facebook, I was just curious to see if others are experiencing the same issue as me.

Hope you get it sorted. Let us know how you get on:smileyhappy:

I thought I'd got it working again after I'd restored it off a backup. It worked for about 5 or 10 minutes, then the problem came back :manfrustrated:

The last thing now is for me to restore as new, downside to this is, everything needs put back on, apps need setup the way I had them, email accounts need added, apps need added/rearranged/put into folders. But I know if I restore as new that if its a software issue on my iPhone, then it will get corrected with the restore as new. I can't see it been a fault on my iPhone, as it seems more software related.

Just a thought, but if the problem still remains after I've restored as new, I wonder if I would be able to get Apple to replace my iPhone?

Well I've restored as new and the problem is still there. :manmad:

I just have a hard time believing its a problem with the iPhone, as it seems like a OS related fault.

Not sure now if its a bug in iOS 6.0.1 (that's affecting some), and if so wait for the next software update, or whether I should contact Apple and see if they will class it as enough of a fault to replace the iPhone.

Appears others have similar issues.

Ok I signed up for Facebook just to try and help.

One thing I've noticed is each individual sign in needs to be authenticated and saved within your Facebook account.
(Change of platform and change of browser)

Now that's left me thinking what if the iOS 6 Facebook integration doesn't go through safari or the Fb app. (Need its own authentication)

I'm wondering if some settings within your Facebook privacy are preventing the iOS from connecting.

Just an idea:)

Thanks for the help Liquid, its much appreciated.

You mentioned that you set up a Facebook account to try and help (thanks a lot for that :smileyhappy:).

On your iPhone, are you able to post with the tap to post for Facebook in the swip down notification area on the iPhone?

I'll have a dig around in the Facebook privacy later and see if there's something in there.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Haha considering my detest of social media shows my willingness to help haha.

I am too having issues with the tap to post.

I'm currently looking around the settings to see if there's a way to turn off the two step authentication.

I imagine the two step authentication is at fault. Every browser or device I sign up with appears in the Facebook sign in settings bit(where/what signs in bit). However no matter how many times I try I can't get the iPhone to appear in the list despite the app showing up.

W3dal can you have a look in your privacy settings to see if your iPhone is listed in the safe connections bit.(will prove/disapprove my theory)

Also do you have the two step authentication?
