Facebook tap to post not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have since getting my iPhone 5, been able to use the Facebook tap to post feature in the Notification Centre. But its a little while since using it last and I don't know when the problem started.

Basically when I swipe down the Notification Centre, and then touch the tap to post for Facebook, I get the following shown:

IMG_0041.PNG

However, the Facebook app works fine. Also the tap to tweet for Twiiter in the Notification Centre works fine too.

I've tried deleting my Facebook account off of my iPhone, deleted the Facebook app, turned the iPhone off and then back on, re-installed the app and logged in, but the problem is still there.

I've also tried the Facebook tap to post in the Notification Centre on my iPad and I have the same problem on there too.

Is any one else experiencing this problem?

I expect its just a temporary issue with either Apple and or Facebook, I was just curious to see if others are experiencing the same issue as me.

never had an issue with mine, and just tried it again. are you connected to wifi or not when you post?

I've tried on wifi and on mobile data. My friend who lives a couple of streets away can post with no problem.

W3dal can you have a look in your privacy settings to see if your iPhone is listed in the safe connections bit.(will prove/disapprove my theory)

Also do you have the two step authentication?

The privacy settings you mention, are these in the Facebook app, or the Facebook website?

This is getting stranger.

When I go into the Photos app, and choose a photo, then touch the little share symbol at the bottom left of the screen, then from the list that appears, choose Facebook. The same little Facebook window appears as what does when I use the tap to post (in the notification centre). If I then click on the POST button, it then posts with no problem.

I tried this by posting 5 photos one after the other and everytime they were posted with no issues.

When I then went into the notification centre, and touched the tap to post, entered the text, and then tried to post, I got the same error shown as what I have on my initially post.

When I go to Facebook on my PC's web browser. And choose Account Settings from the little drop down menu that appears from the top right of the screen. And then choose Security from the left hand side of the screen. One of the options in the Security Settings section, is Recognised Devices, this shows NO RECOGNISED DEVICES.

So you are getting the error message that is shown on my first post, when you try to post with the tap to post in the notification centre?

Thanks.
