Although using star hash 10 hash is SUPPOSED to be FREE?, why does my data go down each time I use this method to look at my remaining data?
I now dare not look at it again for fear of using all my data up, even though I'm not using it for actual calls or texts etc.

OK. Except Phone calls will cost even more out of my data usage, unless you can give me a conventional land line number.

Because I've already wasted a lot of data cost (£7.66 so far) I don't want to phone them. Also, I don't like discussing things like this over the phone, which is why I prefer to email them, so I've got it all in writing.

In my previous post to you I mentioned emailing O2 (complaints) and this is what I sent them yesterday:-
Last December (14th) I transferred from my previous PayAsYouGo supplier (EE) to O2 PayAsYouGo.
Since the transfer date to O2 my account has NEVER worked properly! I've never been able to see my data usage when I've logged into MyO2 account and up to last Tuesday I've payed £7.66 to O2 and had NO proper use out of it (phone calls or texts)! On 9th January it was £12.55, later the same day it had dropped to £12.49 and the last time I looked on Tuesday it was down again to £12.34.
All the drops in my data have been while I've been using the *#10# method, which is supposed to be FREE? I have been advised that, because it uses the USSD code, it will use A FEW KILOBYTES of data each time. As you see from the information above it's using a vast amount more!
Because my O2 account won't let me see how much data I've been using I can only relate to the costs.
When I was with EE I only had to click on their desktop icon and there would be ALL the information I want (remaining data and cost).
I've been in to my local O2 store THREE TIMES and they haven't solved the problem at all. All they did was to get me to pay another £10 data allowance, because they said this would enable them to re-install my O2 account. So that was a totally unnecessary cost to me!
All this is a very bad image for O2, so please sort it out for me.

There isn't much else we can suggest here. Have you tried switching off mobile data and then texting *10#?
