Can't add iPad to existing myO2 account

I've just bought a prepaid PAYG data sim for my ipad and I want to add it to my exisiting myO2 account. When I go to enter the iPad's sim card phone number it says it will text a 6 digit code to the device but the text never arrives. Is there another way to add it to my existing myO2 account?

You need to put the sim into your phone to receive the code.
Ipad can't receive text messages from the sms gateway.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
