Try this: Open browser, press Menu >New window (this should open the Google page), then press the number 2 at the top of the screen, click to close the about blank page with the red minus sign the touch the Google tab to bring it to full page. Make sure you use the back key (not home key) to close browser, and that should, finally, do it for you.

Hi There,

Thanks for that, i have got as far as typing in the google.co.uk into the homepage and pressing ok but then just goes back to the general part page of your solution and cant find minimise button or little red cross so cant go any further. Ive tried just using back key from this point but no success, still coming up with blank page. Told you im a techno muppet! Any more help would be grateful, Thanks

At the top right you will see a button with a number in it. Press this and it will minimise all the browser pages you have open. Then close them all with the red X or - sign then close the browser when all pages have been closed.

Hi There,

Sorry been at work for past few days. Right Ive done that but now when i open up the internet icon i still get a blank page but  in the address bar i am now getting 'about:blank' instead of the previous 'clients3'thing. Thanks for your ongoing help, still need some more!

Minimise and close the "about blank" page as above with the red minus sign so there are no pages open at all, then press back key to close browser. Then reopen the browser. Providing you have Google set as your home page as in my first reply it will open up to Google.

Try another browser such as Chrome from Google Play. If that still won't let you access the web you may end up resetting the phone.
