cant send texts

Anonymous

Since updating to lollipop this morning I have not been able to send any sms. I can send mms and do everything else on my phone, phone calls apps internet etc etc.

I have checked all the apn and centre setting and they are all correct. I have factory reset my phone and still isn't working.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm using a HTC one m8.

Just noticed on Twitter that some are complaining that they can't send texts too, so must be a system issue.

Are you using any particular 3rd party app, that may not be compatible with lollipop yet, or are you using the one supplied with the HTC?

When you say 'can't send' do you mean you are getting error reports, the messaging app isn't functioning, you think they are sent but people aren't getting them etc?

I initially tried just the stock message app and have also tried some 3rd party apps.

It just goes to pending but never actually sends. Pepole aren't receiving them at all.

Yes, it is weird although sms goes via 2g and mms via wap so not necessarily connected to each other.
Try the age old trick of taking the sim out and wiping it with a hanky then try it again.......

I've tried taking the SIM out a couple of times and giving it a wipe and that's not helped either.

It has to be a problem with the sim or the message centre number. Are you sure you have the correct number or have you changed the sim recently?
