Hi all,
Im having trouble with my phone, it appears from a cold start of the device after its been off for about 30 mins or so, it can connect to wifi and seems to run fine for about 30mins to an hour or so, but if i open up the screen the wifi instantly disconnects and the option in settings wont turn back on, and the phone will frequently crash after the screen has been opened.
Ive tried a complete master reset of the device making sure it has the latest software and the obvious turning it completely off and on again, which is how i found the the temp solution of leave it off for half an hour or so and it has a bit of life with wifi connectivity until the moment i open up the screen again.
Looking online i can see this is a known issue with the phone and appears to be related to the wifi chip in the phone become overheated just due to age and it being near the battery causing heat issues that radiate out over time affecting the wifi chip.
How do i go about getting my phone repaired or replaced as its still under the 6 years old which places it still under warranty as set out in the consumer rights act of 2015 and the fault i am experiencing is has been reported online with other users so is a known manufacturing fault with the device
Many Thanks

@David_Hythe I'm reasonably certain you won't be getting your phone repaired or replaced.

Added to that highlighted above, @David_Hythe - most reputable manufacturers of mobile phone handsets offer max 2 years of warranty, so I am not sure where you got the 6 years idea from... Even were it a car, 3 years to 7 years (with extended warranty) is about the longest warranty I have seen - and the manufacturers' definition of "wear and tear" means pretty much everything on the car except the main drive train and perhaps paintwork is effectively excluded from the warranty after the first year. Sounds like a trip to the nearest phone shop for either a new or refurbished handset is on the cards for you today, @David_Hythe.
Good luck!

To make a claim under the 6 year ruling, you need to prove the fault existed at time of purchase.
It is the consumers responsibility to prove it. Good luck with that and the fight needs to be done with the manufacturer.

Not a chance
I'm not sure if any of the many iphone users got any joy trying the 6 year route when their batteries or phones gave out just after the 12 month warranty period ended....
