Xperia Z1 headphones

Thought I would start a new thread to ensure the info is kept on topic.

As you know the headphones were missing from our z1 boxes.

Some people have gotten credit, others told the headphones have been ordered.

I was told (phone and web chat) that the headphones could only be ordered as they do not give credit (inconsistent!) so this was fine as I wanted the headphones....

A day later I got an email saying they are out of stock so please go into a store and pick them up free of charge...

This sounded strange as I was sure stores wouldn't do this, called a store this morning and sure enough they don't do this. All they could do was order them for me and they come from the same warehouse as customer service order from!!!

The misinformation coming out of O2 is rather worrying so far....is it always like this?

Just got off from taking to O2 chat.

They told me at the time the Z1 was shipped out, the headset was not in stock.

But they will send one when they do

Hmm. Spoke to another CS agent via CHAT mentioning the missing earphones (instead of headsets) and he (or she) said "No problem, have ordered one for you. Should arrive in 2/3 days."

Will post update when (or if) I get it.

I've spoken to my colleagues and the phone box does not come with headphones as a default part of the package. Sorry to hear that some of you were expecting it and I hope the below is useful.

To clear this up here’s what does come in the box:

• Phone
• Battery: inbuilt
• Charger
• Data Cable
• Manual
• Warranty
• Screen Protector
• SAR

There’s a list of compatible accessories including headphones here –

Very poor from O2 in that case.

So I think we are fair to assume we should get a headset with this phone.

I think you need to feedback to the correct people and have this sorted immediately for people as it doesn't reflect good for O2.

IMO customers should not have to run around like some of us on here did as well.

O2 should send them by default to EVERYONE who ordered a Z1.

I think it's nuts that o2 are seriously trying to argue that a phone being pitched as one of the best smartphones and with built-in Sony software has no ear phones! Whoever came up with what was coming with the o2 box bundle is paid too much money!

It's more likely that O2's allocation of phones were missing earphones (or that somebody in O2's packing office neglected to include them), and now they're struggling to come up with an excuse to save face and limit the number of requests for free earphones.

I know I've already agreed to the £20 credit, but if I pop into an O2 store next month and see them selling Z1's with earphones, I will be seriously miffed.

Been told today that I won't be getting free earphones after all.

After been told yesterday that I would.

Seems the person that told me I would made a mistake and that if I wanted a pair I would have to pay for them.

Seems strange that an Flagship smartphone doesn't come with a headset  on O2

True, I got a free lens because I pre-Ordered

But what about the people that buy it now?

Are the earphones included?
