Just go into settings >more >mobile networks >access point names and reset them to default.
BTW, the phone will always display the network connection whilst mobile data is turned on so to get rid of the signal indicator, turn off mobile data, also in settings.

It will be if you have data turned on.
Just in case I'm not understanding properly, can you post a screenshot please?

Data is 100% off.i wouldn't pay £1 per day for data anyhow.its a capital H with a white line in it.i've been on the live/chat like 45 times and these call centres in India don't have a clue.had this problem like 3 years ago, chatted to a guy based in the UK online and he turned it off within the hour.why can't 02 just do this?.

I don't think any of us actually know what the symbol means - I've never seen a data signal with a line through it, hence asking for a screenshot.
I'm not actually sure it is a data signal as it would not show with data off unless for some reason Motorola strike a line through the symbol in those circumstances.

The only symbol I get with a line through it ...is a circle. That's when I have no network coverage?

Obviously I am no expert....but that's the only symbol I know of....
