Hi all, can anyone help.

I have left 02 but unfotunatly just found out that my phone is locked!

I've been on the chat filled out the form and have been given the unlock code and instuctions.

The problem is two fold.

1) I no longer have an 02 sim.

2) I dont understand the instuctions.

Here are the instructions

 Unlatching the device :
Insert the original network SIM card into the phone.
Turn on the device enter a PIN code if required.
From the home screen enter the following key: 2945#*870#
 Select "Service Provider Lock".
Enter the unlock code SIM_Unlock or SP_Lock** and press "OK".
Switch off the handset and then switch it back on, the phone is now
unlocked.
Note: In most cases the required unlock code will be the SIM unlock
code, however on occasion it might be necessary to use the SP_Lock
Instead. If both codes are available please used the SIM_Unlock first.

It references the home screen which I take to mean the screen that shows the google search bar and app icons.

I can't work out where you would put a number in that?

Can anyone help. Please also note that when placing in my new sim the phone does not prompt for code. LG G6 phone

Hmmm, OK try the instructions from here then mate.

As if you were making a phone call, open phone app and enter the following key: 2945#*870#
 Select "Service Provider Lock".
Enter the unlock code SIM_Unlock or SP_Lock** and press "OK".
Switch off the handset and then switch it back on, the phone is now
unlocked.

Just put a non O2 SIM in the phone and it will ask you for the code to unlock it.

If it doesn't ask for a code it means it is already unlocked.

Hi MI5 thanks for replying

When the new sim is in place the phone can see the sim but does not prompt for an unlocking code.

When I try to make a call it just comes up "emergency calls only" The sim works in other phones

Thanks MI5

I must admit I had tried that but the old "mince pies" (eyes) arn't quite what they once were. I didn't see the * after the # in the email.

Font size in the forum slightly bigger.

Phone now unlocked, once again many thanks.
