Are you sure it's locked? Not all o2 phones are locked.
Has the phone been used on o2 for a few days and registered in your MyO2?
Have you filled out the form ?

I hope @Anonymous comes back to enlighten us...? I am more interested in why they are advising everyone not to buy the G5....

Because thw build quality is poor and battery no good. And they are out of stock and have no replacements.@lovemyphone no you are wrong. I am on o2 contract and trying to use it.
As you are on contract use the link given by @MI5 to unlock or you could try via MY O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

Filled out the form online a week ago. Do yourself a favour and buy a phone somewhere else if you want it unlocked. Nobody at o2 helps online or in store
Then try via My O2 in the link I gave. Something has gone wrong you need to try again...Or contact CS on 202
