Time lapse before switching to voicemail

How do I change the number of rings on my Sony Xperia before it goes to voicemail? I have tried entering **61*901*11*20# and calling but I alwasy get "connection problem or invalid MMI code".

You may have to turn off wifi calling as codes cannot be sent over wifi.

OK - so I've turned off wi-fi and mobile data but I still get the same message

You need data on, it's just wifi CALLING that must be off.
