Check SIM is ok, and topped-up if PAYG, @Markos

Pop out the SIM card and give it a gentle wipe, reinsert correctly as per

See if SIM works in another phone, if you have one handy.

If SIM is faulty, visit an O2 Shop with the SIM, device and some form of id for a free replacement.
