Suspicious number causing charges

apparently (tho there is no sign of number in logs on my phone) This number called me and Ive been charged over £25 in call charges.??? Anyone have any ideas what his is?

You can't be charged for just receiving a call if you are in the UK.

I imagine they are using callouts, then when a number is active, just billing the relevant network via the payforit scheme somehow.

I have reported it and made all the same points as above to 02 they just kept saying I shouldn't answer any calls from 08 or 09 numbers even when I told them repeatedly that I had never seen the number nor received/made any calls to it and at the times they say it called I was fast asleep and my phone was on charge and idol. (04.30) on a weeknight
