Due to hopefully update to jelly bean for samsung galaxy 2,I have been checking my phone for updates.However now when I check all I get is a message "Failed to update firmware due to network or server problem.Try software update via settings>software update>Update, or try using PC Kies later". I have tried all these things but no joy.Any ides please?

Hi Graeme, you're definitely fully up to date at the moment, so I can only assume the message is due to the servers been overloaded with other users downloading updates. I would check again when you know the update is released for UK open phones and if you still get an error we can look at flashing with Odin.

The update is not available yet so probably why you are getting error messages.

It's almost suggesting it's finding an update but unable to download it - What does Kies say when you connect to your PC via data cable?

Connection to kies just connects for sync. Firmware update gets the same message as the phone

Kies should either tell you there is a update available or that you are on the latest firmware. Kies does not use the mobile network to update the phone so it shouldn't be telling you there are network issues. Dial *#1234# and tell me what the firmware is currently on your phone.
