How do I get Snapchat to work on an HP slate 10 HD I have it downloaded and installed but when I open it it says Snapchat stopped

I have an HP Slate and suffer similar problems with 'some' apps. My Slate is a bit old and wont take some updates. Not saying this is the reason for Snapchat as I never use it.....
