Hi everyone i upgraded my s4 to a htc one m8 and im having a bit of bother.I used the app from the play store htc transfer tool and truthfully it has been a bit of a nightmare.I managed to get my pics and contacts transferred but not the texts messages. Then i had to spend hours trying to find a way to do it and i found an app to solve it.The problem im having now is setting up my email account.I have it set up but i can check my old emails. For some reason i can only see yesterdays.Anyone any ideas?Truthfully as nice as the phone is is turning out to be a bit of a curse. In two minds here to return it.Thanks

I use the htc app without any issues.
In the app settings you have a section called sync, send and receive. Make sure you choose your desired download options in there.

You can either connect it to your PC and drag them into the notifications folder or I use Zedge. Some good tones on there.

Good heads up @jonsie

I use Zedge too as it's not a subscription service etc.

Apple dared to remove my tri~tone alert sound from iOS 7. 😞

On the HTC they need to be in the Ringtones folder (for calls) or notifications for text message, email alerts.
I use es file explorer to copy and move files between my phone and SD card and place them in the correct folders etc.

It's more raw android than Samsung give you so that's why it appears different.

Many curse the Samsung TouchWiz interface but it's not until you use a different system that you realise that some of the stuff Samsung do make things really easy.....
