Security for Samsung S6

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi everyone. The online gurus aren't available so I wondered what people's advice is for extra security on the S6? I've had some pop ups when online stating I don't have active security on my phone and I'm not sure what's the right one to look for. What do other people use?

Thanks!

Those pop ups are junk.
However, if you want a bit of extra security, go into smart manager and activate the built in security monitor in that.
If you want extreme security, open knox security app (but really, dont it's pants)

Thank you, I have activated the smart manager one... how often would you scan or would you just have it running all the time?

Just leave it doing its thing.
It'll scan while on charge.

There's much doubtful information flying around about the need for extra protection on Android devices, is it necessary?

If you feel you do need it use the Google Play store to find a "free" one and don't pay anything for it.

The best apps will allow you to trace your phone should it get lost or stolen including being able to wipe the phone clean of your personal data.

Avoid clicking on the pop-ups that appear when surfing or using certain "free" apps, as they rarely offer anything of any use to you and just want you to buy useless stuff.

Yes....but I only mentioned Lookout in my initial post because others have used it. Personally I haven't bothered with anything on my Note after taking expert advice wink

They all do mostly the same job, if you prefer one to another and it does what you want, that's fine.

It doesn't make any app better than any other.
