Those pop ups are junk.
However, if you want a bit of extra security, go into smart manager and activate the built in security monitor in that.
If you want extreme security, open knox security app (but really, dont it's pants)

There's much doubtful information flying around about the need for extra protection on Android devices, is it necessary?
If you feel you do need it use the Google Play store to find a "free" one and don't pay anything for it.

The best apps will allow you to trace your phone should it get lost or stolen including being able to wipe the phone clean of your personal data.
Avoid clicking on the pop-ups that appear when surfing or using certain "free" apps, as they rarely offer anything of any use to you and just want you to buy useless stuff.

Agree @perksie I think thats what Lookout does ...

They all do mostly the same job, if you prefer one to another and it does what you want, that's fine.
It doesn't make any app better than any other.
