I got a Samsung s23+ just over a month ago. The fingerprint reader does not work. It worked intermittently for a week or so then gave up. I have re-registeted many times which I even had trouble with, it sometimes works on the odd occasion but barely at all. I have now registered different fingers numerous times but it is just the same. I went in to an o2 shop they checked the phone and said everything was working to be honest they weren't very helpful. I have had enough of it. Sometimes even the face recognition is iffy too. A phone that's worth over a grand and I'm not impressed. Nothing special about it really 🤔

You could back up and do a factory reset which is the first thing any repairer will do.
If that fails, the best way forward would be to contact Samsung for help.

book a repair at nearest samsung store, they are usually quite good and free if under 2 year old which the s23 is
