The OP has said that they have had the phone for 2 weeks, bob, so unless the resets work they will most likely have to send it off for repair.

Usually caused by app conflicts, esp task killers or battery saving apps, or it could be faulty.
A factory reset is the normal starting point but make sure you back up phone first as it will wipe everything from your phone.

Hi Chelsey.

You could try a soft or hard reset but to be honest as you can return a handset you believe is faulty within 14 working days of receiving it I'd be returning it pronto for another.

Hard reset.

I thought it was 7 working days to return a phone and cancel a contract.

Or 14 working days to return a faulty handset for a new replacement @Bambino

Correct of course, after two weeks it will have to be sent in for repair, and cannot be exchanged for a new one.

It's a pity they didn't query this earlier.

I'm having the same problem with my S4.  A quick search and I found out it's an issue with the battery.  Take it out and see if it has expanded a little bit.  It should be completely flat.  It would appear to be a known issue and it seems a new battery will fix the problem (if, indeed, yours is the same issue).

Had the same problem. Bought a new high capacity for my new phone. Phone was switching itself off 3 times in 2 days. Put original battery back in, no problems so far.
