Could be your charger at fault then, or as you've tried a new charger maybe the plug socket?

First things first are you using a Samsung charger or an eBay special?

I would suggest using the charger to charge another phone if you can. If that works then you know the charger isn't the issue and you can then move on to the phone and potential faults.

definitely not the charger or the socket as another phone has been charged using them. Phone did eventually charge using cable attached to the laptop but will not connecxt to mains charger

Hi Lorrainebee

I would say then that the fault could lie in one of two areas:

1. That the pins on the phone are damaged perhaps by the charger being accidentally forced? (Most likely). This would mean sending it away to repairs. We recommend not using o2 repairs but going directly to the manufacturer assuming still under warranty.

2. A software glitch. You could try a hard reset to see if that resolves it.

Please let us know how you get on.

As a last ditch attempt you could try a factory reset, but it would seem it is the charging chip that is faulty.
