Hi everyone

I have a Samsung J3 phone which I have on a pay monthly sim only contract as my device is paid for.  I dropped my phone yesterday (occasionally I have dropped it before).  I sprayed some antibacterial spray on my phone and it was working ok.  Last night I put some pictures and videos on Facebook from a recent holiday to Spain and afterwards I noticed it said about power saving and the battery.  I put my phone onto charge as it was very low only 5%.  I left it for at least an hour or more but it would not charge up.  Today my husband used his charger and it does work so does mine because he tested both chargers on his phone.  Unfortunately my phone went down to zero but still allowed me briefly to turn it on then it went off.  Tonight I used a little key my husband got with his phone which is also a Samsung to clean out the charge in point on my phone.  I did manage to turn the phone on but it did go off straight away.

I was going to send it to be repaired although it probably won't be able to be fixed.  It gave a phone number for me to ring but it was discontinued.  I think the only way to have a working phone is to buy a new Samsung phone.

I have two questions please:-

1.  Which Samsung phone will work with a sim only card I have in my Samsung J3.

2.  Can I just buy a Samsung phone from 02 who I have my sim only deal with?  I don't really want to have to go for a combined monthly contract for a phone and my phone calls, data and internet.

Many thanks.

You can buy an unlocked phone from anywhere and your sim card will work ok.

No need to buy from O2 so shop around, Amazon etc.

Any of the current phones in the O2 shop pages will work with your sim.

PAYG phones will come with a sim, but you don't need to use it. https://www.o2.co.uk/shop

I bought my current phone from Amazon. It's a Samsung Note 8. There are far less expensive ones on that site. Just make sure the seller has a good rating. Just avoid Ebay.
