Samsung Galaxy S5

This morning phone started to show that earphones were connected when they were not. I have never used earphones nor do I want to. Have tried switching off and on, taking battery out all to no avail. Can't use phone to make calls unless use earphones. It is causing battery to drain very quickly. Any ideas

Thanks everyone. Eventually I stuck the eye of a needle in and wiggled it gently and hey presto the earphones connected message disappeared.

I think you need to try a factory reset after backing up. If that doesn't rectify the fault you are best advised to contact Samsung support for a warranty repair.
