Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Bugs & Fixes

Anonymous
Not applicable

HI,

I have already noticed a few bugs with Jelly Bean on my Galaxy SIII and thought it might be useful to start a list of these bugs & hopefully come up with some solutions?

  • Low Battery life - attempting a calibration soon, hopefully this will resolve the problem but i suspect it is caused by GPS usage & data usage from google now
  • No ability to set reminder via google now -"Remind me to XXXXXX in ten minutes" results in setting an alarm for midnight?
  • Sky Go app is no longer compatible
  • Pausing music via voice only works if done in an american accent (even though everything is set to UK)
  • Sometimes, selecting a part of text by sliding your finger to the relevant place results in closing the keyboard meaning you can only select part of text with "press"
  • "Google Now" hangs on "Initialising" sometimes when out of WIFI

Thanks

Reconnect your wifi profile to your router (long press on connection to forget then re scan).

Hi MI5, and thankyou for your speedy reply. I have tried that already and still no joy. It connects to wifi but doesnt load pages off internet. Every now and again it comes up authentication error. I love my S3 but this is driving me nuts!!!!

Hi could anybody shed some light on this..
My battery status is really poor now. With ICS I could easily get 12-15 heard use, now with JB my battery went from 100 - 10% in 6 hrs, with the phone just being in my pocket.

Cheers

Hi, I had the same problem but it looks like the fix is to hard reset the phone to stock firmware then update jellybean from there. Apparently it solves all these issues.

I haven't tested the theory yet but hoping to do it tonight slight_smile

I haven't noticed that problem, to be fair i turn off the charging LED and only leave the notification one turned on. Maybe they thought that reducing brightness it would increase battery life?
