Hi all
Just got the Samsung Galaxy S3 and have a question regarding battery life.
The only smart phones I have owns have been the iPhone 3g and the Nokia N8. With the iPhone the battery used to last a day, untill it was about 13 months old when the battery died and would only last a few hours. The Nokia N8 would hold a usable charge for around 3 days and even now, although its 2 years old it still hold a good charge and lasts a good 2 days.
Now I have a nice new S3 and the battery is only lasting about 12 hours. I know its a new phone so its still got its play value, and I know new batteries need cycling a few times to get their full capacity but dose 12 hours sound right for a brand new battery.
Thanks for any help with this.
Jeanette

Go into settings and check what each of your accounts are trying to sync. You will find many things syncing that you don't use or need. Turn them off or set all syncs to manual and you will see a huge difference.
Does that apply to the Sync that is on the pull down bar as well? On mine, that is on. If I turn it off, will it make battery life better? Also on there is 'GPS'. Can that be turned off too? I already have wifi and bluetooth off. Battery much worse since JB went on. Is there anyway of getting ICS back???

Hi guguys thanks for all the tips and advice.
looks like the problem has now sorted its self.
i was starting to think this phone was a bad idea, having replaced my N8 I was quite un impressed with the S3's performance which was very slow plus the high battery drain rates. Then all of a sudden the phone crashed at the end of a call and I had to do a re-set (hold power & home button) to get it re-started, after the re-start the phone suddenly took on a new leas of life, and now flys along as smooth as silk, and the battery only lost 10% over night instead of 85% it had been doing.
Thanks again for all the help.
