Samsung Galaxy S2 constant flight mode not reognising SIM

Anonymous
Not applicable

My Samsung Galaxy S2 suddenly had no reception, and is now in flight mode which I cannot switch off. It doesn't recognise that I have my sim in the phone.

Switched off phone, removed battery, and sim and tried again, but still the same problem.

Any advice anyone??

*#06# should give you an IMEI number. Sounds like you are on old GB firmware anyways, so I'd connect to Kies and update the firmware first.

Have you tried a long hold on the power button to bring up the phone options and switching off flight mode that way? Maybe you could pop into your local o2 store and ask them to try a new simcard first of all.

SIMcard works on another phone. I have tried long holding the power button to turn off the flight mode, but it's not working either.

Is the phone actually in flight mode or is it just not reading the sim card?

What firmware are you on (dial *#1234#)? Does your IMEI number still match the number under the battery (*#06#) ?
