Good Evening its me Help

 

I have bought a cctv camera set it up slight_smile inserted SD card and it doesnt recognise it 😞

 

Been and asked why on Amazon and card needs formatting.

 

I have inserted card into my A5 2017 to formatt 

 

Googled what to do and it doesnt work .

 

I open settings app ... go to device maintenance where storage is 

 

Press storage and have documents , images , audio , videos and applications 

 

What do i do next please ?

 

Can any of my clever friends help please before i scream

Hi @Poppysmum 

Put the card in your laptop then open file explorer (the filing cabinet icon).

You should see the card in your devices.

Right click on it and choose format and choose Fat32 if it asks.

I would if i could .

 

Slot that looks like its for card is big its only a little card i dont want to lose it.

 

I have got phone connected to laptop usb is there any way it can be done on laptop this way please ?

I guess you didn't get an adapter with it?

but I'm surprised it's not already formatted anyway.

Go to your storage settings on phone and select format frpm the menu, but, the phone format may not work with the camera.

Is there no settings in the camera to format the card?

No not got one of those had card a long time.

 

I did that originally went to storage settings and just says what my first post said.

 

I will nip upstairs and find old laptop and see if card slot in that different and also if i can find one of those adapters in bag of wirers and stuff i save lol 

 

There is a setting in camera to formatt card but it not highlighted because its not seeing card .

More like camera stupid i am sending it back . Will carry on using my old camera card works in that one

AHH yes, if it works elsewhere most likely the camera at fault or an incompatible type or size of card.

@MI5Its me again grin

 

I sent that camera back this morning after talking on Amazon chat last night. 

 

They apologised and i ordered another camera a different one and also a new SD card.

 

Set new camera up and already think its better than one i already had and sent back one pic better,

 

Trouble is cant record yet card not arriving til tomorrow 😞 

 

Its got one of those adaptors with it. 

 

Could use SD card i got but decided new one would be better start afresh.

 

Will update tomorrow if i still think camera ok or if its going back slight_smile
