My grandson has a Samsung S5. I bought it for him about 18 months ago. Over the last couple of weeks he has been told people are unable to hear him very well when he calls them.
He has just tested this with me by ringing my mobile and landline. He is right ...I can hardly hear him.
Any ideas?

Well he is off to get a 'childs toothbrush' He said he has removed 'some black stuff' from the mic already. I suppose this is what you get when you carry the phone about in your pocket (without a cover)...wherever you go.....
I hope he sorts it.... as I can see it will be an expensive Christmas (for me)

True, but should also be easier to see if there is anything there and get it out.
Providing you haven't broken it by drilling a larger hole there...

I have a cover on my phone and I have to clean out the hole for the microphone and the charging point on a regular basis. The only way to avoid anything like this is to get a case where the ports are covered by a part of the case that you open to use...

Even with a cover the microphone is exposed. Some phones are more susceptible than others, but it can happen with any phone. Time to start a new Christmas fund, I think @Cleoriff.:smileywink:
