Once you @pgn have gained familiarity with the Pixel 8a, I would be interested on seeing your thoughts on it please.

I have used Samsung handsets for about thirteen or fourteen years and cannot help thinking that it is time to try something else. 👍

Pixel xA series are a nice value pay point device in the Pixel family - having been taken in by the 4a because of its camera and image enhancement, the lack of skins/bloatware and the proximity to Google for security updates at the time, so it has seemed to me to be a natural progression - Pixel features for less than the x and xPro prices.

I can say I've never had a Samsung, so what did you want to know, specifically @Oxonian?

That's fine @pgn ; if you are a repeat customer of the Pixel xa series you are obviously satisfied by them.

I am just wanting to try something different and a Pixel 8a at £350 or thereabouts seems incredible value ; wondered if there was a shortcoming that I was missing. 👍

Certainly made me realise how overpriced the OnePlus range had become since my foray into their product line over 4 years - the Pixel 4a gave me excellent value, then the 6a, now the £499 256GB 8a. I think you will like the Pixel, once you let go of the fancy apps of the Samsung, or, in my case, the OnePlus, @Oxonian

I've had one for the last 12 months and highly recommendable.
